One more voice from far away

One more voice from far away was a collaboration between the Bugallo-Williams Piano Duo and Noise-Bridge. The project explored voices in a variety of ways. Although written for piano, the short pieces Játékok by György Kurtág and Amy Williams’ Cineshape 4 often have a singing quality to them. In Carola Bauckholt’s Microlude, the players have to breathe rhythmically together. As a reference to the vocal technique of Alpine folk music, Erik Oña’s technically demanding piece Jodeln consists entirely of harmonics. Johannes Walter’s piece Eisklänge is a chorale for clarinet and piano created by the inner voices of multiple sounds.
