Half Covered

Half Covered is a series of compositions for piano by other composers, which have been reworked to varying degrees.

Toy pianos are noisy and often out-of-tune instruments. I did not notate many of the noises and microtonal pitches in the playback. For example, B4 is sometimes about an eighth-tone flat but not notated, and there are also high-pitched “squeaking” sounds from the A4 in the movement “Buzzing and squeaking.”
