Echo Chambers

Echo Chambers continues my fascination with the complex textures that arise from the gradual layering of repetitious figures that are constantly transformed through slight changes to the rhythm and harmony. The inspiration for the piece also came from a recent phenomenon in online social behavior, where perceptions of reality are distorted since we tend to seek out platforms that reinforce our ideologies, our voices becoming echoes in a cavern.

Note that in the score the trio plays together until m. 54, where they break off from one another and thus have individual parts.
